Giving Back to Children this Christmas
Here at Connect Childcare, Our mission is to improve the lives of children, globally. Through our software solutions, nurseries are becoming more efficient, enabling them to spend more time developing the children in their care. We are passionate about child development and support our customers to provide the very best quality childcare and partnership is of the utmost importance to us.
As Christmas is a time of giving, we feel we have a sense of duty to give back to society and care for local our community. Thats why we are proud to be supporting two fantastic Children’s Charities this Christmas by taking part in Christmas Jumper Day on behalf of Save the Children and making our annual donation to Circus Starr.
Save the Children is a charity that specialises in providing education facilities, mental health support & safe spaces for children. This charity helps children, in the UK and around the world, to get the medicine, good food and education that they need. Save the Children work in homes, nurseries, schools and communities to narrow the gap between children living in poverty and their better off classmates.
When COVID hit, UK children’s lives were turned upside down. To help, Save the Children started an Emergency Grant for the worst-affected families. So far it has helped over 10,000 of Britain’s poorest children with early-learning packs, food vouchers, and other essentials.
Here at Connect, we got together in the office on the 14h December for Christmas Jumper Day as well as enjoying some fun festive activities such as Secret Santa and a Christmas Quiz with our team. On the day, we helped to raise a total of £61 for Save the Children.
Circus Starr is an amazing organisation who helps disadvantaged children to have a special Christmas. Since 1987 Circus Starr have donated thousands of free circus tickets, worth over around £1.3m, to disabled and disadvantaged children and their families/carers ensuring that all children experience a memory-making, inclusive day out in a place of safety.
We’ve been donating to Circus Starr since 2010 and by donating £250 to Circus Starr again this year, 20 local Children who need a little fun in their lives get to experience circus experience the Winter Tour 2023 in Burnley.
The 20 tickets will go to children with a disability or who are facing a bereavement and their circus audience is made up of a huge range of children and their families; all of whom are encouraged to sing, dance, shout out and jump up and down as participation is key to making memories!

There are a couple of ways you can help children in need this Christmas. The first is to donate to Save the Children using this link, no matter how small, every little bit helps. The second is to pay for a disadvantaged child to see the circus, and you can do that by donating to Circus Starr’s link here. Tickets are free for children who are underprivileged, disabled, and vulnerable. Your donations help us fight the lack of creative and cultural opportunities available to families with a disabled child.
