The Role:

Connect Childcare are looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to join their growing team. The purpose of the role is to provide technical support to the Connect business and also to the Connect suite of products to customers

Essential Requirements and Experience:

  • Experience of Microsoft desktop and MS Windows Server
  • Knowledge of Networking and network troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of Linux and Mac OS
  • Experience of MS SQL Server, Backup and Restore
  • Exposure to scripting in Powershell, Bash or Python

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Exposure to Web Software Deployments
  • Basic knowledge of AWS
  • Interest in Docker, Jenkins (CI/CD)
  • ITIL Foundations certification
  • Microsoft or Cisco Certification

Role Responsibilities:

  • Build and configuration of internal client devices and servers to specific security guidelines
  • Manage queries/tickets promptly and offer solutions within agreed SLA
  • Troubleshooting internal customer issues
  • Ensuring security policies are adhered to
  • Out of hours on call rota (once trained)
  • Monitoring of systems – alerts/ incident/ problem and capacity management
  • Upgrade customers to the latest releases of our software
  • Maintain software deployment tools and technologies
  • Deployment of latest web application, route to live environment
  • Set up local customer installations
  • Responsible for providing backups to the Support Team to help resolve queries
  • The testing and running of SQL scripts
  • Migration of data into customers databases
  • Troubleshoot customer issues
  • Responsible for keeping technical documentation up to date
  • Work collaboratively with all members of the Connect team
  • Other reasonable duties, as required by the post’s line manager
