Connect Childcare are a limited company based in Nelson. We develop Nursery Management Software for Childcare Providers. Our team of 60+ use their knowledge to design and develop software and support our clients to optimise its use.
Connect Childcare’s software helps streamline the management of Nurseries.
Our mission is to “Improve the lives of children, globally”. We do this by developing products that save nurseries time and money, and ensure that working parents never miss out on milestones in their children’s lives. Nurseries that use Connect are able to reduce their administrative burden enabling them more time to spend educating our children.
We have just celebrated our 15th Anniversary as a business. Today our software is used by over 3000 nurseries, which includes 84,000 practitioners and more than 346,000 parents. We also have several sites in the UAE as we start our global journey, and our analytics data shows parents have accessed their children’s information from over 105 different countries!
The recent move to a large new office in Nelson has already proved to have a positive impact on staff.

Our former home was just over 3,000sq ft, we really were working on top of each other, which wasn’t good for morale, we couldn’t wait to move. For us, the important thing was to bring the team together and encourage collaborative working in a fun, modern, fit-for-purpose environment.
The new office doesn’t only provide more work space, the health and wellbeing of all staff has been taken into account. The new office gym encourages healthy habits, unlimited free fruit is provided and every staff member has even been given their own branded water bottle! Staff are encouraged to take breaks and downtime facilities like a pool table and games consoles are available for staff members to use. This not only allows Connect staff to relax and unwind but also encourages friendships within the team. We build on the team atmosphere by providing a full team lunch once a month in our new purpose built kitchen area.
Employees are asked through anonymous surveys to tell us about their workplace happiness and how likely they’d be to recommend Connect as a good place to work. Our Employee Net Promoter Score is currently 42.

Our new offices have helped us fuel our inclusive culture.
Previously, each department was separated into different offices but our new open-plan office allows us all to work alongside each other in one large area. A number of smaller rooms and collaborative spaces are available for different teams to come together to influence new projects. We take steps to make sure everyone feels welcome, safe and free to be themselves. Prayer rooms are available to be booked out and the word ‘Hello’ is printed in the 9 different languages spoken by our employees in our entrance hall, so that everyone enters with a familiar greeting and a smile on their face!
