Cheeky Monkees

The Background

Angela Mehegan and her partner Andrew founded Cheeky Monkees in 2004 after struggling to find a high quality childcare setting for their own young children.

From Angela’s previous experience as a Nurse, they knew first hand that not all jobs were 9 – 5 so focussed on providing flexible, high quality childcare that catered to the needs of all working parents. Their flexible offering made them an extremely popular choice for parents, and as a result, Cheeky Monkees expanded and now have 4 busy settings across the North East.

The Challenge

The expansion of the nursery meant that the previous software system had become unfit for purpose and often created more issues than it solved. With a separate database installed at each of the 4 sites, Angela had no visibility of the company overall and was often unaware of problems until she ran a report at the end of each month.

"Overall we had very little control over debtors and these were only highlighted to us once at the end of each month,"
Angela explains.
“I knew I needed a system to allow me to cover everything, not just fees and debtors, but HR, staff absences and observations too."

The Solution

After initially meeting Connect Childcare at the Childcare Expo, the team arranged an onsite demo so they could see the benefits of the system for themselves. Angela was wowed from the get go.

I loved it from the first demonstration. I could see it was going to give me more control over the different settings and save us time and money. We were spending a fortune in printing alone and the time saving benefits for staff were huge.
Angela made the decision to go ahead with the full Connect Childcare package and hasn’t looked back.

A lot of parents feel guilty leaving their little ones each day, but ParentZone has made it so much easier for them. They can log in and see that their child is happy and cared for, which gives them peace of mind. ParentZone is a real USP for us. There aren’t many nurseries in our area offering anything like this so we always make a point of demonstrating iConnect and ParentZone on show arounds. It helps us to attract even more parents into our setting and gives them an idea of the brilliant service they get from us.
